My childhood was filled with personal writing projects, and I never lost my love for it. My first job was in technical support at a law firm, where I started writing technical documentation to educate legal secretaries and attorneys.
I have always enjoyed converting technical language into readable specs, technical docs, and online help pages. I have become adept at building relationships with different teams in order to obtain information used in the creation of documents that a customer or the public can easily read.
I’ve been a full-time editor and writer for more than twenty-five years. I will improve your work with thorough and substantive editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I also offer clear and concise writing of software documentation and user assistance with attention to detail. In collaboration with engineers, project managers, release managers, and quality assurance teams, I rapidly identify and gather requirements in highly matrixed organizations. I tap into resources and identify user pain points to develop technical documentation with a focus on customer experience. I write instructions for technical manuals about installation, usage, maintenance, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Technical writing and editing projects can be dense and complex. I understand and enjoy projects such as this, for I am accomplished in breaking them down into individual pieces. I subsequently rework and rewrite each section repeatedly, which results in an excellent finished representation with everything in its place.
Creative writing is my passion. I delight in writing fiction and creative non-fiction equally. I also relish the editing process–the more complex, the better. I savor generating a myriad of ideas and watching them bloom into full-grown stories.
